When it was announced at CES 2015, the Lenovo A6000 carried a retail pricing of $169, which translates to a price over Rs.10,000 in India. Considering both YU Yureka and Redmi Note 4G carry better hardware and lower price tag, we always expected Lenovo to pull a rabbit out of its hat during the Indian launch. But getting it down to Rs.6,999 is a sweet surprise in fact.

Lenovo A6000 Specifications

5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, expandable memory with microSD Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Vibe 2.0 UI Dual (micro) SIM 8MP auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash 2MP front-facing camera 8.2mm thick and weighs 128 grams 4G LTE / 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS 2300mAh battery

In comparison to Yureka and Redmi Note 4G, the Lenovo A6000 carries a lower RAM (1GB as against 2GB on the other two), and a slightly lower battery as well. But undercutting both the phones by at least Rs.2,000 should help Lenovo to get into prospective buyers’ shortlist. We got to play with the phone for a brief period at the CES 2015, and it was a positive experience. The general navigation was lag-free, and the Vibe UI looks refreshing in its colorful avatar. The phone supports both TD-LTE 40 and FD-LTE 3 bands in India. Like the Vibe Z2 Pro and Vibe X2, Lenovo has partnered with Flipkart to sell the A6000 exclusively online. Registrations on Flipkart for A6000 will open on 16th January, 6:00 PM. It seems Lenovo is also adapting Xiaomi’s method of registration and flash sale while selling the A6000.
